The 5th Anniversary Family
Service of Celebration and Praise in support of Action Cancer
was held in Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon 3rd
December. Organised by Norma Bell, Chairperson of the Lisburn
Action Cancer Group, the programme was directed by Brian Trainor
and hosted by Laura Kerr of the Salvation Army, who also opened
the event in prayer.
Taking part were: St Joseph�s Primary
School conducted by Nuala McGoran and accompanied by her mother
Monica McGoran; St Aloysius Primary School conducted by Una
Tracey; Riverdale Primary School, conducted by David Thompson
and accompanied by Sharon Annett; Girls from Hunter House Senior
Choir conducted by Phillip Elliott and accompanied by Christine
Cairns; Stephen McLoughlin and the Lisburn School of Music Swing
Band; Trinity Praise Group; Musical group - Joy, Heather and
Rachel Bennett and Emily Sloan; Piper Scott Wallace; pianist
John Wilson. The soloists were Lynn McAllister, Patsy Douglas,
Joanna Hyndman, Bronagh Mullan and Lara Kerr. Geinor Chapman
and Laura Hanna read the Scripture readings.
In her closing remarks, Norma Bell spoke
about the talent in the city of Lisburn and in thanking everyone
who had given their time and talent to today�s event, she said,
�It was like being at the London West End�. Deirdre Robson (St
Mary�s University College) closed the event in prayer after
which everyone enjoyed some seasonal refreshments provided by
Davonne Barery, Irwins Bakery and Draynes Farm.
The Lisburn
Action Cancer Group has raised �372,568 since it was formed 7
years ago, with over �60,000 of that raised in the last year
alone. The retiring collection at the service last Sunday
afternoon raised �2,066.00
