The work completed to the Lisburn
Cathedral building and grounds was dedicated by the Rt. Rev.
Alan Harper - Bishop of Connor, at a Dedication and Gift Day
Service in Lisburn Cathedral on Mother�s Day - Sunday 26th
March 2006.
The work included new heating, restoration
of the Chapter Room and Choir Room, a toilet with disability
assess, new lighting in the grounds and the flood lighting of
the Cathedral Building. The architects were Greeves Kelly
Cairns Architects; T.G.M. Consulting were responsible for the
internal electrics and heating; Caldwell Consulting were
responsible for the outside lighting; and the building work was
carried out by Annvale Construction.
The Rector, the Rev. Canon Sam Wright and
the Vicar - the Rev. Kenneth McGrath, led the service. Frank
Bailie, the Praise Band and the Cathedral Worship Group led the
praise. Scripture readings were by Ruth Gardiner and the Bishop
of Connor, the Rt. Rev. Alan Harper, gave the address. Members
of the design, consultants and construction firms also took part
in the service.
