Derriaghy Parish Fete was held at Christ Church, Derriaghy last Saturday afternoon (17th June).  Assisted by the Rector, the Rev John Budd, Miss Vance Addis opened the fete.  Miss Addis, who has been Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years and a member of St Andrews Church Choir since 1969, welcomed everyone and thanked the committee for asking her to open the fete.    She said that she regards the fete as, a social event that brings parishioners together and provides the opportunity to meet old acquaintances and to make new ones.  She hoped that everyone would have a great day of fellowship and craic and that they would get some great bargains.  Organised by Pat Allen and a fundraising committee from the congregations of Christ Church - Derriaghy and St Andrews - Colin, the great afternoon of fun and fellowship for the whole family included a variety of cakes, plants and book stalls, afternoon teas, barbecue, face painting, hoop-la stand, football and netball stand and lots of other attractions.
