A sponsored
abseil and a day out on Rathlin Island are among a number of
events organised by the parish to celebrate the 175th
anniversary of the present church. Celebrations got underway on
Ascension Day, Thursday 25th May, when the Rt. Revd
Alan Harper, Bishop of Connor, preached at a Service of
Celebration. The abseil down Magheragall Church Tower takes
place on Saturday 3rd June and among the 45 brave
participants are a bride-to-be and a 65-year-old pensioner. A
special Birthday Service will be held on Sunday 4th
June, followed by a parish lunch, and praise and worship service
that evening.
A trip to
Rathlin Island, which includes morning service in St Thomas,
Rathlin, is scheduled for Sunday 11th June and has
been organised by the rambling club.
