THE Mothers' Union branch attached to
Eglantine Parish Church at Culcavey has come first in the
O'Neill Cup competition run within the Connor Diocese.
Christ Church in Lisburn was joint runner up
along with St. Nicholas on Belfast's Lisburn Road.
Over the years the competition has covered
many topics, but this year the branches were asked to identify a
need in their parishes or communities and develop a project
around that need.
The judges - the Bishop of Connor, the Rt. Rev.
Alan Harper, Lady Eames, former MU Worldwide President and Mrs
Louise Wilson, past President of the Methodist Women in Ireland
- had a difficult task.
The final result saw only one point
separating Eglantine from Christ Church and St. Nicholas.
