A Children�s Day Service was held in Glenavy Methodist Church last
Sunday morning (18th June). The minister, the Rev Leslie Spence
welcomed the congregation and guests and gave the call to
worship. Charlotte Moore on piano and Amy Lutton and Mark Ross
on flutes led the praise, which included - Peter and John went
to Pray, For I�m Building a People of Power sung by the Sunday
School children. Katie Robinson on violin played - Adam in the
Garden; the Small Class offered the family prayer and the Lord�s
Prayer; the Senior Class read verses and prayers; Matthew Sloan,
Christopher Duncan, Jamie Stevenson and Alex Morrow offered a
Time of Prayer; and Scott Stevenson, Christopher Collier, Kim
Robinson and Stephanie Patterson read the Scripture lessons.
Jamie Stevenson, Rebecca Sloan, Christopher Duncan, Alex Morrow,
Katie Robinson and Jessica O� Loughlin performed a sketch called
- Dr Fixit; Jamie O�Loughlin, Karl Stevenson and Paul Duncan
performed a sketch called - Three Pillars; Kim Robinson and
Jamie O�Loughlin performed a sketch called - A Man Called Ann;
Matthew Collier gave a background of the Book of Acts and Paul
Duncan gave background 2 - The Next Link in the Chain.
Using a puppet presentation guest
speaker, Janette McCormick (Dept. of Youth and Children�s Work)
assisted by her husband Brian and puppets Rosie and Tom, spoke
about the power of the Holy Spirit.
