Lisburn Elims morning Sunday School - J.A.M.
(Jesus and Me) meets at 10.15am and the teachers are always glad
to see the children there, but, what about the Mums and Dads,
not to mention the relatives? Concerned about the absence of
some parents at morning worship, Pastor Norman Christie and
Pastor Roy Johnston decided to hold a breakfast and united
service for the whole family and the first one, held last
Sunday, was a huge success. The guest speaker was Gareth (Spud)
Murphy - Youth Worker and Evangelist from Crown Jesus Ministries
who presented the Good News in an enthusiastic manner to and
equally enthusiastic audience. Casual dress and happy
participation by children and adults was the order of the day
and after the half-hour service, entire families sat down to a
most enjoyable low calorie fry-up prepared by the ladies from
the Church Fellowship.
Members of the congregation arriving for
the morning worship at 11.30am were welcomed by the wafting
aroma of sausage, bacon and egg and were delighted to see such a
huge turnout at the earlier service, many of whom remained for
further worship. Following on from the success of last weeks
United Service, another one is planned for Sunday 26th
March at 10.15am and all new comers will be most welcome.
