Magheragall Girls� Brigade 62nd
Annual Display was on Friday 31st March and Saturday 1st April
in Magheragall Presbyterian Church. The Guest of Honour on
Friday evening was Ms. Marion McCann - Regional Fundraiser with
Childline and Mrs. Vivien McCaughey - Company President, was the
Guest of Honour on Saturday evening. The chairman each evening
was the minister, the Rev. Angus McCullough and the pianist was
Emma Collins.
The Captain of Magheragall
Girls� Brigade is Latifa
McCullagh - Assistant District Commissioner. In her report,
Latifa records that 82 girls were enrolled at the November
Enrolment Service. She also records that Rachel Greer, Sharon Mairs, Louise McCullagh and Lisa Robinson completed their
Sub-Officer training and have proved indispensable during the
year.
The theme for the display
was �Friends� and the programme each evening was: Twinkle
Twinkle, I�ve got a friend, Locomotion - Tinies; Puff, Dorothy
and Friends, Playground, Cha, Cha - Explorers; My Friend,
5,6,7,8, Marching - Juniors; Faithful friends, I Believe, Oul
Friends - Brigaders; I�ll be there for you - Seniors; Old Girls�
Friendly - Officers and Brigaders; and My Forever friend -
Company.
On Friday evening the
Brigader Section presented a
cheque for �1000 to Ms. Marion McCann - Regional Fundraiser with
Childline (this year�s chosen GB charity); the money was raised
from the sale of Recipe Books and from the Carol Service.
On Saturday evening Latifa McCullagh - Captain, presented an engraved
crystal bowl to Mrs. Vivien McCaughey who is retiring as
President, a position that she has held for over 40 years.
Latifa thanked Mrs. McCaughey for all her years of service to
Magheragall Girls� Brigade. In her retiring speech Vivien
commended the girls and leaders on a splendid and enjoyable 62nd
Annual Display in which everyone gave of their best.
Mrs. Vivien McCaughey is retiring as President, a position that she has held
for over 40 years. On Saturday evening Latifa McCullagh -
Captain thanked Mrs. McCaughey for all her years of service to
Magheragall Girls� Brigade and presented her with an engraved
crystal bowl to mark her retirement. In her retiring speech
Vivien commended the girls and leaders on
a splendid and enjoyable 62nd Annual Display in which
everyone gave of their best.
