a service in St. Luke�s Church, Twinbrook, last Saturday
evening.

The Mayor - Councillor Trevor Lunn and the Mayoress - Mrs
Laureen Lunn were the special guests at the 6.30pm Vigil in St.
Luke�s Church, Twinbrook, last Saturday evening. The Very Rev. John Murray, P.P. led the service and welcomed the
congregation and in particular his guests, the Mayor and
Mayoress. In response, the Mayor thanked Fr Murray for his
invitation and spoke of his recent visits to several churches in
the area and said that he was looking forward to his visit to
Twinbrook next Monday morning (6th November) when he will attend
the opening of the Colin Celebration Garden adjacent on St
Luke�s Church. Bringing the greetings of Lisburn City Council,
the Mayor concluded by wishing every success to Fr Murray and
the congregation of St Luke�s. Jim Murray and John Loughlin assisted Fr Murray during the
service and read portions of Scripture from Deuteronomy 6: 2-6,
Hebrews 7: 23-28 and Mark 12: 28-34. Jacqueline Hagan and Donna
Keating led the praise. Hymns included �Salvation belongs to our
God� and �Lord, I lift your name on high�. In his address based
on Mark 12: 28-34, Fr Murray spoke of the importance to �Love
the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, with all your
understanding and strength and to love your neighbour as
yourself�.
