Second Dromara Girls� Brigade Company 35th
Annual Display was held in Second Dromara Presbyterian Church
last Friday night (7th April 2006). The Chairman was
the Rev. David Porter; the Guest of Honour was Maree Massey -
Captain of 1st Saintfield Girls� Brigade and the
Pianist was Judith Orr.
The new Captain of Second Dromara is Karen
Carson whose mother was the first Captain of the company from
1970-1976. In her first report, Karen records that 75 girls
were enrolled at the Annual Enrolment Service on 13th
November when three girls, Lee Stevenson, Jennifer Carson and
Sara Wallace received their Duke of Edinburgh gold brooches.
Mrs Jean Wallace also accepted the award on behalf of her other
daughter, Jane. The Display programme included: Wide, Wide as
the Ocean, Colours of the Rainbow and Going to the Beach -
Explorers; Polly�s Brollies, It�s Raining and the Boat Race -
Juniors; Bridge Over Troubled Water, A Trip of a Lifetime -
Seniors/Brigaders.
