Beautiful summer weather added to the idyllic setting for a
Garden Party held in the grounds of Kilwarlin Moravian Church
last Saturday afternoon 9th June. Pipers Peter Gray and Michael
Woods piped in the start of the event. The minister, the Rev
Paul Holdsworth opened with a Bible reading and prayer after
which his father, Mr Alan Holdsworth (Chairman) welcomed the
large crown and wished them an enjoyable afternoon. Mrs Karen
Mawhinney said that it was great to see so many here and after
giving a brief explanation of the things to see in the grounds
of the historic church, she declared the Garden Party open.
Stuart Walker and Little Talia Hoey presented gifts to Mrs
Mawhinney and Mr Holdsworth (snr).
Cream Teas and Strawberry and Cream were served in the church
hall and at tables in the beautiful grounds of this historic
church. There were also a variety of cakes, plants, crafts and
bookstalls. Local musicians Billy Gibson and Brian Thompson (The
2 of Us) provided an afternoon of well-known foot tapping songs.
