Presbyterian Church on Monday 2nd April. The evening of worship
and thanksgiving was one of three special services held over the
weekend to mark the 50th anniversary of Free Presbyterian
witness in Dunmurry.
The Rev Dr Fred Greenfield, the recently installed minister of
Dunmurry Free Presbyterian Church led and sang at the service.
Others soloists were the Rev Dr William McCrea and Mrs Kathryn
Mitchell. Mrs Jacqueline Moore on organ led the congregational
praise. The great old fashioned gospel hymns included - 'The old
rugged cross', 'Burdens are lifted at Calvary', 'Jesus is
passing this way' and 'Pass me not O gentle Saviour'.
In his address, Mr McCrea spoke about the conversion of Saul - a
religious man, but, a man who did not know the Lord. Referring
to the 23rd Psalm he explained that we all know the Psalm - but,
do we know the Shepherd' He said that Jesus came to seek and to
save that which is lost and closed by emphasising that those who
call on the Lord will be saved.
