Last Friday evening (12th January) Lisburn Baptist Church was
filled to capacity with over 400 members and friends for the
induction of their new pastor, John Taylor.
John Taylor, whose wife Christine was also present, said that
they looked forward to working with the church in the city of
Lisburn. Pastor Taylor grew up in Co. Tyrone and moves to
Lisburn after previous pastorates in Armagh, Kilrea and Lurgan.
He also served for a time with Slavic Gospel Association.

by Pastor Jim Smyth of Moira, and Pastor Alan Dundas of Kilkeel

Greetings were brought on behalf of the Association of Baptist
Churches in Ireland by former Lisburn man, Harry Dowds. He is
currently pastor in Stonepark, Co Fermanagh. The pastor of
Emmanuel Church, Robert Murdock, spoke on behalf of other local
Baptist churches in the area.
Good wishes from Mourneview Baptist, Pastor Taylor's last
church, were brought by Mr Albert Gilpin, and the preacher for
the evening was Pastor Harold Chambers of Cookstown Baptist.

Lisburn, a call which had a 100% endorsement at the special

Noel Spence welcomed the new pastor and extended the right hand
of fellowship to him. Stephen Aiken closed the meeting in
prayer.
Denver and Lynne Wilson rendered two duets during the service
and at its conclusion, everyone was treated to an excellent
supper by the ladies of Lisburn Baptist under the supervision of
David Spence. Everyone was treated to an excellent supper by the
