Local Gospel band 'Live Issue' will fly to the United States to play a ten-day tour of Alabama and Nashville on Tuesday 14th to Friday 24th August. Although this is mainly a concert tour of churches, the band is booked to appear at the Midnight Jamboree at the Grand O'le Opry and the Nashville Cowboy Church in Opryland. Both of these appearances will be broadcast live on WSM Radio and Television to 150 countries.

The USA tour follows on from a recent trip to England where they played at the Whitby Pavilion Concert Hall in Yorkshire on Friday 18th to Sunday 20th May. The concert featured some of the finest Gospel artists from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the United States. Live Issue played a half hour slot during each evening concert to a capacity audience in the 1000 seat auditorium. On the Saturday afternoon, together with well-known Country Gospel singer George Hamilton 1V, they performed their musical adaptation of the life of Banbridge born poet, the late Joseph Scriven who wrote the well-known hymn 'What A Friend We Have in Jesus'. Also in March this year they also performed this musical adaptation with George Hamilton IV at the Lisburn Church of the Nazarene, Newmills, Waringstown and Lurgan.

The Joseph Scriven programme by George Hamilton IV and Live Issue was recorded live in Banbridge last year and recently released on CD. The album was produced by Colin Elliott and Sam Purdy from Lisburn. One of the songs from the album entitled 'Someday My Ship Will Sail' is currently sitting at No. 3 in the NCM European Christian and Country charts which is quite an achievement!

In preparation for the tour to the United States, Live Issue have also just released a new album of their own entitled 'We Will Meet Again'. The album is already selling extremely well and has received some excellent reviews in the Christian Music press.
