The Mayor - Councillor Trevor Lunn and the Mayoress - Mrs
Laureen Lunn were the guests at morning worship in Kilmakee
Presbyterian Church on Sunday 4th February. The
minister, the Rev Tom Wilson welcomed the congregation and
visitors and gave a special welcome to his guests. He also
welcomed the newest member of the congregation, little
6-day-old Dylan Belshaw. Amy Logan and Ashlee Coday (who
work with Youth for Christ) presented a humorous
dramatisation of the Lord's Prayer. After reading the
Scripture lesson 'The Lord's Prayer' from Matthew 6 v 9-13,
the Mayor spoke of his visits to churches in the area and of
his Mayoral themes to make 'Lisburn a city for everyone' and
the need to 'Embrace Diversity'. In bringing the greetings
of Lisburn City Council, the Mayor thanked Mr Wilson for his
invitation and wished the minister and congregation every
success and God's blessing.

Mr Wilson conducted an interesting interview with Kathryn
Viner, a Union College student who is currently on an 8-week
placement at Kilmakee. In his address Mr Wilson continued
on his theme of Faith. Explaining that the things that made
Jesus go 'WOW' was the many biblical examples of people's
faith, he spoke of the spiritual gift of faith and the need
to become a Christian and faith to grow as a Christian and
stand on God's promises.
Aileen Irvine on organ,
the praise band and the church choir led the praise. The
hymns included: 'Our God is a great big God', 'Blessed
assurance Jesus is mine' and 'I know not why God's wondrous
grace'.
Refreshments were served after the service allowing
members of the congregation to meet and chat with the Mayor
and Mayoress.
