About 220 young people enjoyed two fun packed Holiday Bible
Clubs in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church last week (Monday
18th - Friday 22nd August). About 120 children attended the
afternoon programme for P1-P7 age group. Entitled 'Champion's
Challenge' it took the children into 'the arena' where they
trained for the Olympic games, which were running simultaneously
in Beijing. Each day they learned how Jesus could be their
physio, teammate and even substitute. Following Luke's Gospel,
they heard how Jesus helped his disciples 'work out' and how He
is the ultimate champion. The club, which included games,
sports, crafts and other activities, concluded with a sports day
and barbeque in Wallace Park last Friday afternoon.
About 100 young people (Year 8 and above) attended the evening
event 'Escape'. Taking inspiration from Hebrews 12:1-3, the
theme was 'Running the Race' and the fun packed programme
included - games, sports, competitions, live music, dramas,
interactive entertainment and much more.
