The Rev James Todd, the recently installed minister of St Columbas Presbyterian and Methodist Church, Lisburn, was the guest preacher at the summer epilogue service in Seymour Street Methodist Church last Sunday evening where he was welcomed by the minister, the Rev Brian Anderson, who led the service.

Previously minister of Second Newtownards Presbyterian Church, Mr Todd succeeded the Rev John Honeyford, who in April 2007, became minister 2nd Castlederg and Alt Presbyterian Church in the presbytery of Derry and Strabane.

In a challenging address, Mr Todd spoke on the story of Jesus walking on the water emphasising the need for all of us all to reflect upon our faith and our dependency on Jesus. Also taking part in the service were the Rev Ken McGrath (Lisburn Cathredral) who read the Scripture lesson; Inez Price (1st Lisburn Presbyterian) who prayed for others; and Noel Guest, Paul Good and a group of musicians from Seymour Street Methodist Church who led the praise which was a combination of traditional and modern. Following the service, good conversation was heard from around the church as members of the united congregations of Seymour Street Methodist, Lisburn Cathredral, First Lisburn and Railway Street Presbyterian Churches met the new minister of St Columbas and chatted over a cup of tea.

The epilogue service next Sunday evening (10th August) will be held in Railway Street Presbyterian Church at 8.00pm; the guest speaker will be Mr Colin Elliott, Principal of Brownlee Primary School.
