Sunday evening (21st December).
The story of the nativity was told in a service of nine lessons
and carols at First Lisburn Presbyterian Church last Sunday
evening (21st December). The minister, the Rev John
Brackenridge, welcomed the large congregation. The readers were:
Marion Craig, Irene Richer, Gordon McKeown, Margaret Thompson,
Evelyn White, Perry Reid, Mary McNeight, Kimberley Hammonds and
the Rev John Brackenridge.
The choir, with Director of Music Tom Whyte presiding at the
organ, sang the anthems: 'Still, Still, Still', 'Love Came Down
At Christmas', 'Candlelight Carol', 'Star Carol' and 'In the
Bleak Midwinter'. Soloist Nick Parks sang, 'O Holy Night'. The
carols were: 'Hark the herald angels sing', 'While shepherds
watched their flocks by night', 'It came upon the midnight
clear', 'O Come, all ye faithful' and 'O Little town of
Bethlehem'.
Refreshments were served in the Church Hall after the service,
kindly provided by the catering team.
