Nine days of outreach entitled 'Connect' - will be held in
Christ Church Parish on Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th February.
The purpose of 'Connect' is to seek to connect people with the
good news of Jesus Christ and connect one another in fellowship.
The mission team is Roger Murphy, Rev Paul Hoey, John O'Neill
and Karen Webb. Roger Murphy, a Church Army Captain lives in
Warwick, England. Rev Paul Hoey was formerly rector of
Ballinamallard and now works full time for the Church Pastoral
Aid Society. John O'Neill and Karen Webb are also with the
Church Army and have a particular ministry to children and young
people through puppets, juggling, clowning and music.
In a statement about 'Connect', the Rector, the Rev Paul Dundas
said, 'We look forward to our own parishioners planning the
witness and supporting the event, which is all backed up with
prayer'. In terms of preparation for the outreach, 50 adults
have participated in the 'Lost for Words Course' by CPAS which
has as its slogan, 'Sharing faith naturally' and in January
there will be prayer ministry training led by the Rev Pat Mollan'.
Mr Dundas concludes, 'These are exciting times for us at Christ
Church and we pray that under the Lord's leading, we will be
fervent in our desire to honour the Lord in these days and see
Him touching lives during the nine day of outreach in February'.
A variety of events and services are planned - some of them are
as follows:
' A Barn Dance to kick off the 9 days on Saturday evening
16th February
' For the children there is a kids club each afternoon
' Lunchtime concert in the Church on Tuesday 19th February
' A Chocolate Heaven night for ladies on Wednesday 20th
February
' A Soul Food Caf' for teenagers each afternoon - and -
adults each evening
' An activities night (with lasers) for teenagers and men
Thursday 21st February
' Family Fun day on Saturday 23rd February
' Sunday worship with Symington Memorial Silver Band on
Sunday 24th February
