First Lisburn Girls' Brigade (4th N. I. Company) held their 66th
Annual Display in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church Hall last
Saturday night (12th April). The Chairman, the Rev John
Brackenridge, welcomed a packed hall of girls, parents and
visitors. The guest of honour was Mrs Jill Craig, who presented
the awards and presided at the piano. During the evening the
Captain, Mrs Maureen Killiner, gave a detailed report of the
Girl's activities and achievements during the year.
The packed programme included: Singing games, turning ropes and
pointing toes - Tiny Tots; Marching and games - Juniors; Washday
and freework - Explorers; Competition freework - Brigaders;
Scarves - Seniors; Strictly Come First Lisburn - Seniors and
Brigaders; Skipping by Georgia Collins and Gemma Crockett and
the Brigader solos by Kathryn Millen and Erin Shanks. The
company item was a high school musical and the finale was a mime
and P.E. work to 'The Prayer' by Brigaders.
In presenting the awards, Jill Craig thanked the leaders and
girls for a wonderful well-polished display and the Rev John
Brackenridge, in closing, thanked the girls for a great fun
evening in good company.
A delightful supper was served after the display.
