The Rev John Pickering has been
appointed the new senior minister at Christ Church Parish in
succession to the Rev Canon Dr Ken Cochrane, who left at the
end of September 2007. He preached his first sermon as
Senior Minister on Sunday evening 13th January
and will work at Christ Church one Sunday in the month and
one day in the week. Mr Pickering was Ordained in 1965 and
became Rector of Drumcree Parish Church in the Diocese of
Armagh in 1983; he was also Rural Dean of Kilmore Rural
Deanery.
The Rector, the Rev Paul Dundas, says
of Mr Pickering's appointment, 'The Bishop of Connor has
given permission for Rev John Pickering to exercise this
ministry within the Parish and we hope that parishioners
would welcome him as he comes to work with us'.
