Women from eleven churches in the Maze area held their Women�s
World Day of Prayer service in Hillsborough Presbyterian Church
last Friday evening (7th March). Co-ordinated this year by Mrs
Hilary Jess, the service was led by the Rev Kiran Young Wimberly,
Assistant Minister at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church. The
guest speaker was the Rev Gabrielle Farquhar, Ballycarry
Presbyterian Church, a former assistant minister at Hillsborough
Presbyterian Church.
Mrs Diane McMullan presided at the organ and a combined choir
comprising of ladies from churches in the Maze area led the
praise. A group of ladies from churches in the Maze area took
part in the service of prayers, readings and hymns, which was
prepared by Christian women from Guyana. The theme was �God�s
wisdom provides new understanding�.
The Hillsborough venue for churches in the Maze area was one of
many in the Lisburn area; other venues included: Moira and
Second Dromara Presbyterian churches; Trinity (Lisburn) and
Ballynahinch Methodist churches; and St Anne�s (Finaghy) and St
Joseph�s (Glenavy) Roman Catholic churches.
