Inter-Church ‘Picnic in the Park’ and ‘Global Day of Prayer’

Sharing in the fellowship and witness at the ‘Global Day of Prayer’ event at Castle Gardens on Sunday 31st May (Pentecost Sunday)
Sharing in the fellowship and witness at the ‘Global Day of Prayer’ event at Castle Gardens on Sunday 31st May (Pentecost Sunday) are L to R: Fr Dermot McCaughan PP (St Patrick’s), Rev Brian Gibson (Railway Street), Pastor George Hilary (Lisburn Christian Fellowship), The Very Rev Dr John Dunlop (Former Presbyterian Moderator), Rev John Brackenridge (First Lisburn), Rev Canon Sam Wright (Lisburn Cathedral) and Rev Paul Dundas (Christ Church) and his son Curtis.

The recently restored Castle Gardens, in wall to wall glorious sunshine, was the idyllic setting for an ‘Inter-Church Picnic’ and ‘Global Day of Prayer’ event on Sunday 31st May (Pentecost Sunday) organised by Lisburn City Centre Churches. Members of local congregations met after their morning services to share in fellowship and witness as they enjoyed a picnic together followed by prayers linked to the Global Day of Prayer held in a number of other venues throughout the Province and in many countries worldwide. Led by local church leaders, the prayers of adoration, confession, for the church, for our community, our land and the nations of our world, were each followed by a suitable interpretation or response.
