Rhythm & Rhyme, a choir of ladies from several local churches, performed their ‘top 20 songs’ in concert at Laurelhill Community College last Friday evening (11th September). The most enjoyable evening of music and song included Phantom of the Opera, Rhythm of life and a Chicago and Abba Medley. The choir was conducted by Emma Collins and the accompanists were Richard Irvine on piano and Philip McKibben on percussion. The soloists were: Lynne Anderson, Maureen Doran and Joanne Wallace. Also taking part were the junior choir ‘Beat & Bop’ who sang, ‘Raindrops keep falling on my head’ and ‘When I’m 64’. The compere was Alec McCullagh, who shared many of his jokes and stories.
Supper was served during the interval. All proceeds from the concert will be in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and Magheragall Presbyterian Church building fund.
