Dunmurry Free Presbyterian Church was packed to capacity on Monday 10th August for a special evening of gospel praise attended by Lisburn Mayor, Councillor Allan Ewart. The special guest singers were the Deborah Girl’s Choir from the Deborah House Orphanage, Timisoara, Romania. The soloist and conductor of the choir was John Costache, known to his many Northern Ireland friends as Little John, a name affectionately given to him by the Rt Hon Dr Ian Paisley MP MLA. The minister of Dunmurry, the Rev Dr Fred Greenfield, led the service. The visit was organised by former minister of Hillsborough Free Presbyterian Church, the Rev Dr Stanley Barnes, who also took part in the service. Mrs Heather Garrett accompanied the choir and also led the lively congregational gospel praise. The speaker was the Rev Dr Eugen Groza, Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, Timisoara and director of the Deborah House project.
A delightful supper was served afterwards providing the opportunity for the congregation and visitors to meet and chat with the girls and special guests.
