Charity auction raises £5000 for Downtown Centre

A CHARITY auction in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church Hall has raised nearly £5,000 for Lisburn Downtown Centre.

The auction was opened by Lisburn Mayor, Councillor Allan Ewart. Local auctioneer Norman Mawhinney was kept busy selling over 100 items ranging from furniture, holiday cottages breaks, rides in sport car to landscape gardening; there was also a small bric-a-brac stall and some pieces of handmade Jewellery on sale.

The following local businesses donated to the auction: Phillips VW Garage, Woodsides, Vision express, Easons, Lisburn Golf Club, Irwin Fuels, Smyth Patterson, S.P.A. Landscaping, Solace Alternative Therapies, SureClean Car Valeting, Alison Moorhead Graphic Designer, McCalls, Essence Interiors, Del Toro, Tesco, Ian's School of Motoring, Phillip Steele Window Cleaner, Premier Inn, Boots, Joan Bell Reflexology, Hairlines, Uno Restaurant,

Greens, Hanna and Browne, Lagan Valley Leisureplex, Menarys, Isabella Armour Artist, Contract Services, Boots, Pheasant Restaurant and Brown Bean.

Downtown Co-ordinator Sharon Bentham thanked all who donated to the auction and also expressed her thanks to the committee members and all involved in organising the event including all who helped with serving tea and coffee and providing tray bakes for the day.
