NINETEEN members of Hillsborough Free Presbyterian Church Youth Fellowship flew to Kenya on Monday afternoon to work with orphaned children.

Led by Gordon Martin and Richard Lockhart the team, who have been sponsoring a Kenyan orphan for the past two years, will spend two weeks working with children who are under the care of Friends of Africa Missionary Endeavour (FAME) headed by the Rev Alan Dunlop, who is also a member of Hillsborough Free Presnyterian Church.

Calling in to wish them bon voyage were local councillors Alderman Paul Porter (Lisburn Mayor) and MLA Jonathan Craig, whose son Nathan is one of the team.

Prior to their departure the Mayor presented the minister, the Rev Gary Goodes, whose daughters Belinda and Melissa are also members of the team, with a Lisburn City Plaque as a memento of the outreach missionary work being undertaken by the young people.
