Sheila Smyth from Fresh Oil Ministries and Music Centre in Dromore on the evening of her ordination.SHEILA Smyth has been ordained as Pastor at Fresh Oil Ministries and Music Centre in Dromore.

On Saturday December 11 in Fresh Oil Ministries and Music centre in Dromore Ministers from Lisburn, including Brian and Mary Agnew and Pastors Norman and Doreen Christie and the Reverend Martin, joined Sheila for her ordination and affirmation.

"Pastor Agnew spoke during the service and shared how we sometimes need to go through crushing experiences in life in order to have the oil that we can then pour into other people," explained Sheila. "Jesus himself was crushed in the garden of Gethsemane which was the place were the olive trees grew, and were they were then gathered and crushed for the oil. We need to keep the oil fresh, by keeping our own personal walk and prayer life alive with God."

As well as being ordained, Sheila is also preparing for a return visit to India in the New year. At the ordination service the Ministers and guests prayed for Sheila and the team. "I am leading a team of three woman, including myself, Sharon Brown and Bernie Torrens Spence to North East India again at the beginning of the new year," she explained. ' Prayer was made for the team for their safety and protection, and also that God would use them out there to be a blessing.

"This is our second trip to India," she continued. "We work with a pastor out there called Anupam Narjinary who has established over 20 churches among the poor people in the tea gardens of Dooars, which is a region in Bengal, North East India, near the border of Bhutan."

Sheila said she had been honoured to be ordained. "I feel very honoured by the events of last Saturday evening," she said.

"I hope that it will encourage both men and woman who have a genuine call of God on their lives to press on, and not give up on their dream. God will make a way for you, and space for your gifting to be expressed."

Sheila and other Ministers in the Lisburn area meet regularly to pray for the city.

She is keen to hear from any other Minister in the area who would like to join them. She can be contacted by emailing sheilasmyth@aol.com.
