GRACE Communion Lisburn held its first Worship Service at the St Patrick's Pastoral Centre, Chapel Hill on Easter Sunday, April 24.

Visiting Grace Communion International Ministry Leader for UK and Ireland, James Henderson, gave the inaugural sermon. He spoke about the 'Priority of Grace' using the analogy of the recent news story in which a holidaymaker saved the life of a child falling from a fourth storey window, saying God similarly saves us from freefall via Grace through Jesus Christ i.e. Grace stands for God Rescues All Children Everywhere.

During the Service, Elder David Stirk from Banbridge assisted Mr Henderson in the commissioning of three men to the new Pastoral Council; Elder Bob Beggs, Worship Leader John Magowan and Council Chairperson Stuart Foster. Mr Henderson also conducted a Communion Service explaining how the elements also symbolise Grace.

The inspiring opening service was followed by refreshments and lively fellowship.

Grace Communion Lisburn meets at 11.00am each Sunday at the St Patrick's Pastoral Centre and is planning an official public launch on Pentecost Sunday June 12.
