New rectory for Hillsborough Parish
HILLSBOROUGH
Parish Church took possession of its new rectory on Wednesday January 26 as
contractors M. E. Crowe Ltd of Drumbeg finished work on the building in
Dromore Road, in the grounds of the old dwelling.
Prior to the handover, a team of volunteers from among parishioners were on hand with buckets and sponges, cloths and cleaning sprays and vacuum cleaners to help prepare the premises for the arrival of Rev Simon Richardson and his family from their former home up the hill. The move took place the following day on Thursday January 27.
The old rectory has been sold to a private buyer, and a site on land adjacent to it is being sold for development in due course.
