SANTA took time out of his hectic schedule last Saturday morning to make a special visit to Anahilt Presbyterian Church's family breakfast.
Families and friends of the congregation enjoyed a great breakfast in the Church hall on Saturday December 10, prepared by Santa's helpers at Anahilt.
Anahilt's Vision 2012 Events Team chairman, Billy Fulton, said he was delighted with the attendance and the family friendly atmosphere.
"This was just brilliant. The children obviously enjoyed meeting Santa and the whole event just made a great start to the day for us all," said Billy.
Santa arrived to the sound of Jingle Bells and the children were able to let him know their Christmas wishes and were each given a present.
Rev. Gareth McFadden gives Santa his Christmas list.
Rev. Gareth McFadden, minister of Anahilt, also gave his Christmas list to Santa and commented that Santa's breakfast was part of a series of events leading up to Anahilt Presbyterian Church's 350th anniversary in 2012.
"2012 will be a massive year for Anahilt and the congregation plan to celebrate this landmark by organising events throughout the year, redeveloping the interior of the church building, and by reaching out to our local community. We hope that all our friends and neighbours will find time to help us mark what is a truly remarkable achievement," said Gareth.
Gareth also went on to thank everyone involved in making the event such a success.
The breakfast couldn't have happened without the support of a large number of people and our reward is seeing how everyone enjoyed it. Obviously, special mention must be made of Santa who came all the way to Anahilt at such a busy time in his year."
Anahilt Presbyterian are following up the event on Sunday December 18 at 3pm with their annual Christmas Carol Service and everyone will be made very welcome.
