Members and friends of 'Brookmount Dance
Ranch' Line Dance Club presenting their annual
charity funds to 'Seymour Hill Horticultural
Unit' and 'Lisburn Senior Gateway Club'.
MEMBERS and friends of Brookmount Dance Ranch
have presented 2,000 to two local charities following their
latest line dance evening.
The group has been raising money all year
through their club social nights and sponsorship for doing the
Lisburn Fun Run and were delighted to have raised 2,000 to
give to this year's chosen charities, which both do remarkable
work with people with learning disabilities.
At their latest Line Dance, on Friday April 20,
they handed over 1,000 to Lisburn Senior Gateway Club
representative, Stephen Lenaghan. This money will be used
towards a fantastic day out in June for roughly 75 members and
15 volunteers.
Paddy Coleman and Charlie Maxwell, 'who
attend Seymour Hill Horticultural Unit, accepted a cheque which
represented 1,000 worth of much needed resources. These
included picnic tables, giant garden games, exercise mats, a CD
player and even a cement mixer to make mixing compost easier for
the clients.
The Dance Ranch thanked Kathie McCall and
members of the SHHU Advocacy Group for the great suggestions.
There was also a huge thank you to all who
supported Brookmount Dance Ranch in their fund raising efforts
throughout the year. They have beginner and intermediate classes
every Monday night. Anyone interested can contact class teacher
Sharon Hendron on 07761090185.
