in Old Warren estate.
LISBURN Community Self Build Limited recently
held a celebration and awards ceremony at the Laganview
Enterprise Centre in Old Warren estate.
Almost one hundred beneficiaries of the
project, which was funded by Proteus through the European Peace
II Programme, packed into the community hall to listen to Mr
Martin Snodden (Northern Spring) deliver an evaluation of the
project activities during the last three years.
Councillor Jenny Palmer presented the
certificates to the young people who had participated in the
activities which had been organised by the project. These
included NVQ's on various skills within the building
construction industry as well as Peace and Reconciliation and
cross border work.
Guests at the ceremony included Brenda Kennedy who
represented the intermediary funding group Proteus and Mr Seamus
Braniff, Mr David McAllister and Mr Danny McKeown from
Springvale Learning.
