Lisburn teenagers lend support to children's hospice

LISBURN teenager and her friends have been busy putting their marketing
skills to good use in aid of Northern Ireland Children's Hospice by
selling unwanted items at a local car boot sale and baking buns.
Hannah Jess, 13, along with friends Hannah MacMillan and Rachel McDowell were keen to help as Hannah's sister Ashley has been going to the Children's Hospice for three years. Sixteen year old Ashley, who has lived with the rare condition Metachromatic Leuo Dystrophy since birth, not only benefits from visiting Horizon House, but the entire family can benefit from the respite care that it provides.
Claire Brown, Regional Fundraiser for the charity said, "These girls have really shown a true spirit in their fundraising efforts, and on behalf of the Children's Hospice I would like to thank them all for their support." Claire continued, "We rely heavily on voluntary income to sustain our services, and with the local community support, we endeavour to continue the work both at Hospice and at the child's home."
Each year the Children's Hospice cares for over 300 children and provides support to their families.
