Andrew
Falloon (20) is undergoing work experience at the Ulster
Star as he tries to decide whether journalism is the career
he wishes to pursue. He spent two years studying in Dundee
but is glad to be home to help with the DIY around the
house.
Q&A
What do you like doing on your day off?
I'm quite a big sports fan. I would try to catch up on
any games that are on and watch the sports news especially
when it comes to football. I'm also a dab hand at DIY so I'd
have a go at fixing things around the house. I'm especially
good at wallpapering and plastering.
Q&A
I you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be,
where and why?
It would have to be pizza in New York. My aunt's friend
lives out there in the Bronx and someday I would really love
to go there and experience it - it's a real possibility.
Q&A
What has been your proudest moment?
When I got accepted to Dundee University to study law. I
didn't get in on my a-levels so I went to Dundee and took an
HNC as an introduction to Scottish law.
Q&A
How would you describe your taste in clothes? What's
the most you ever spent on a single item?
Pretty casual really - hoodies and jeans mostly - but I
do like decent clothes as well. The most I personally have
ever spent would be about 70 on a pair of football boots.
Q&A
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I'd probably not be very sensible and put half in a bank
and half under the bed or something. I would probably give
some money to the Parkinson Disease Society in Lisburn as my
dad has Parkinson's and it would be great to help out.
Q&A
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Giving a trumpet presentation in my first year at
Wallace High. I was very nervous doing it in front of all my
friends even though I was very good, if I do say so myself.
Q&A
What music do you like?
I like a really wide range of music. I really like the
stuff Zane Lowe plays on Radio One - it's a good mix and
he's always playing really new music that you won't hear
anywhere else.
Q&A
What sports person do you most admire?
Mohammed Ali. He was one of the first celebrity
spokespeople for Parkinson's and he really helped raise
awareness. I also enjoy watching documentaries about his
life and the footage of his actual fights are just amazing.
Q&A
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream
holiday be?
Magaluf after our sixth year. It was simply mad - we
hardly got any sleep in the first few days because you kept
bumping into other groups and just heading off with them to
do something else. My dream holiday would be to get a few
mates and go to the USA and tour along Route 66.
Q&A
If you were on a desert island what three things
would you like to take with you?
A homing device so that I could be tracked down and
rescued. An MP3 player and a member of the SAS to be with me
- someone like Ray Mears or Andy McNabb - they would know
how to do all sorts of things.
Q&A
If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you
choose?
Steve McQueen.
