Aly McLoughlin-Harte, 26, is a freelance Artist. She will be exhibiting her work at `LOOSE', an exhibition of large, gestural pastel studies by Aly and Catherine Keenan at the Art Act Gallery, 32 Castle Street. The show runs until September 12 , Monday to Saturdays from l lam-5pm. Aly lives in Bangor with her husband and son. She finished a Masters in Fine Art in 2007 and has been practicing her art ever since. She also works with young people with learning disabilities.
What do you like doing on your day off?
Preferably an activity of the outdoor variety.
If you were to choose your favourite meal what
would it be, where and why?
A fillet steak with peppered sauce, chips and
onion rings! Nothing too fancy, and just because I love red meat! I
wouldn't mind where...maybe The Cloth Ear.
What has been your proudest moment?
Possibly giving birth to my whooping 9Ib baby son
Elijah.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
Flying back from honeymoon over the Rockies in
the U.S.A. I wouldn't be the best when it comes to turbulence.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
Give a chunk to various mission partners and
charities. Buy land and build a bigger house back in the country.
Make art, have more babies, adopt lots of children, own and rent out
my own studios, have my own gallery and give some to my family.
What
was your most embarrassing moment?
In Spain last week I thought James Whitaker the
Royal Editor for the Daily Mirror was a member from Rockmount Golf
Club Carryduff where I used to work. He wasn't best pleased but it
did provide much laughter and amusement for our party.
What music do you like?
An eclectic mix which again is inconsistent...
Dire Straits, Van Morrison, Beyonce, Girls aloud.
What sports person do you most admire?
Roger Federer.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your
dream holiday be?
One of my best holidays was in New Zealand. My
dream holiday would be in Melbourne, Australia with all my family
and friends on board for the banter.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To be nominated for and to win the Turner prize.
If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would
you choose?
Stephen Fry
If you were stranded on a desert island what
three things would you want with you?
Assuming that Michael and Elijah are with me I'd
say My Bible, eyelash curlers and sun cream.
