Laura Murphy, 26, is the Pharmacy Manager in `your local Boots pharmacy', Market Square Lisburn. Laura studied pharmacy at Queen's University and completed her pre registration with Alliance Pharmacy. Two years ago she was offered the Manager's position in Market Square.
What do you like doing on your day off?
I like going to the gym, socializing with friends, going out for dinner, but
most of all shopping!
If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it
be, where and why?
Turbot and Scallop from Tedfords in Belfast - I think it serves
great food and wine and has the most amazing atmosphere.
What has been your proudest moment?
Apart from my graduation, 1 would have to say being offered the post as
Boots Pharmacy Manager in Lisburn, I am only 26 and feel this has been a
great achievement, something I am very proud of.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
I was taking part in an away day and one of the challenges was to abseil
down the side of a building, I was terrified, I got stuck at the top and
could not and would not move, after a lot of coaxing and persuasion I did
get down ... eventually.
How would you describe your taste in clothes?
Fashionable with classic pieces.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I would share it with my family and friends, take a
holiday and buy a lot of clothes!
What was your most embarrassing moment?
I don't have one specific moment, I've had too many to mention, all of the
customers will back me up on that.
What music do you like?
Indie, easy listening and rock.
What sports person do you most admire?
Lance Armstrong because he overcame great difficulties and still achieved,
he is a great role model for all people today, not just sports fans.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be? I went to
New York in May - it was amazing, a real mix of sites and shopping, I really
loved the hustle and bustle of the city but my dream holiday would have to
be Dubai - again the sites, the shopping and the sun would be just perfect.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
I want to get the team here in 'your local Boots pharmacy' Lisburn,
motivated enough to take part in the relay in next years Belfast City
Marathon. If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you choose?
Alan Carr.
If you were stranded on a desert island what three things
would you want with you?
My Dior showblack waterproof mascara; Curly Wurlies; My BNF! (British
National Formulary).
