MARIA Mallon,17, from Crumlin, is a member of Fusion Theatre, who are currently on stage with "Titanic the Musical" in the Island Arts Centre which runs until Saturday September 12. She is an upper sixth form pupil at Rathmore Grammar School, where she is studying Geography, Media studies, Art and German.
What do you like doing on your day off?
Just generally relax, maybe do some art.
If you were to choose your favourite meal what
would it be, where and why?
My mum's enchiladas and Mexican rice. I'd eat it anytime, anywhere.
What has been your proudest moment?
Getting through the auditions and into Fusion Theatre. I never had
much confidence in myself before then, and knowing I am part of such a
talented and dedicated drama group never fails to make my day.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
Any time that I'm behind the wheel of a car.
How would you describe your taste in clothes?
I suppose a vintage/girly mix would best describe it. I buy what I
like and what suits me.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I would save most, give my family each their own share, then take
them on a cruise to the Caribbean.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Probably during our school's production of West Side Story, where I
entered too far left on the stage, and ended up in the middle of a spotlight
where there was a solo dancer.
What music do you like?
Mainly musicals - Wicked, Into the Woods or Spring Awakening.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your
dream holiday be?
This summer we went on a cruise around northern Europe and Russia.
St. Petersburg was beautiful, and we got the only two days of sunshine in
the entire Russian year. My dream holiday would be a New York theatre break.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To have a successful career where I have the flexibility to travel
and get paid for doing what I love.
If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would
you choose?
Idina Menzel.
If you were stranded on a desert island what
three things would you want with you?
My I-pod, my sketchbook and I'd definitely need some sort of
survival guide.
