LOCAL actress Moyna Cope, who now lives in England, recently returned to the Province to take on a cameo role in new play 'Black Milk' as part of the Belfast Festival at Queen's
A former Friends' School pupil, Moyna is a veteran of stage and screen. Originally from Lisburn, Moyna left Lisburn in her late teens and has since built up a superb career in drama, opera, musicals and television. Recent roles include parts in Channel 4's Hollyoaks and BBC l's Doctors.
If you were to choose your favourite meal what
would it be, where and why?
Fish, preferably salmon at the Ivy in London. It is intimate but
full of interesting people.
What was your proudest moment?
My proudest moment was when I was elected president of LOSA at Friends'
School. Going to Friends' was one of the happiest times of my life.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
When a war time bomb hit the home where I was staying at the time
was most frightening.
How would you describe your taste in clothes?
I would say conservative and quiet.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
If I won a million pounds I would give some to friends in need and
visit places which I had never seen.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
When directing an evening at the Irish Embassy in London, I chastised a man
for removing chairs. He was the Ambassador. It was very embarrassing.
What music do you like?
I like opera, classical and good jazz music.
Describe your best ever holiday?
My first visit to New York was my best ever holiday. I should like
to see the Fjords of Norway someday.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
My greatest remaining ambition is to play a good role in a period
TV or theatre.
If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom
would you choose?
I would choose Barack Obama to spend a day with.
If you were stranded on a desert island what
three things would you want with you?
The three things I would want on a desert Island are a mosquito
net, torch and suncream.
