Irene McCaffrey, 57, from Moira, is a personal trainer and also runs fitness bootcamp in Moira and Lisburn and hopes to start up another bootcamp in Bangor next year. She is married with three grown up children. Irene grew up in Toronto, Canada but has spent the majority of her life in Northern IreIand.
What do you like doing on your day off?
I like hiking the Mourne
Mountains and generally being active. I enjoy playing the piano and
listening to music. I also enjoy travelling.
If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be, where and
why?
I really like fresh organic food so I would say I'd have fresh fish, like
sword fish (which is a rare thing to find) and an organic salad. I would
have it in my house with my family because I enjoy cooking.
What has been your proudest moment?
Singing Lakmes Flower duet (the one from the British Airways Adverts) to
over 1000 people and having many kind people tell me it was the highlight of
the evening.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
The hairstyles in the 80's.
How would you describe your taste in clothes?
To be honest I am usually in trainers and work out clothes as I train people
everyday but alternatively I do like to wear bright coloured clothes and on
evenings out I would wear nice dresses.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I have a friend in Lusaka Zambia who has a charity called Zambiali. I would
donate the vast majority to the good work she does there for local schools,
orphanages and aids victim.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Walking into a men's changing room in the gym.
What music do you like?
As a piano teacher I teach classical music, my favourite piece is Clair de
Lune but I also enjoy modern music with a good melody line.
What sports person do you most admire?
Paula Radcliff as she is very willing to help other people especially those
aspiring to run long distance and I admire her kindness and generosity.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be?
Last summer my family and I went to Jordan. The Dead Sea and Petra (think
the temple from the 3rd Indiana Jones film) was very inspiring. My dream
holiday would be to go to Australia to visit my sister.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To have a boot camp franchise all over N. Ireland

Paul
Clark because he is extremely helpful and inspiring person.
If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want
with you?
A lot of water a piano and a set of weights.
