LAWRENCE Chambers, 51, is employed by the Civil Service in the Architectural Unit of Properties Division. He is a keen amateur artist and also Chairman of Lisburn Historic Quarter Art Group who organise Art on the Rails at Castle Gardens Lisburn, every Saturday to 3:00pm from April to the end of September.
What do you like doing on your day off?
Sketching and painting (outdoors if the weather permits).
If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be, where and
why?
Usually any fish dish on the menu at the Plough in Hillsborough, it has a
great atmosphere and I like the location.
What has been your proudest moment?
The birth of my two daughters' and recently the birth of my first
grandchild.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
Taking ill with meningitis many years ago.
How would you describe your taste in clothes?
Casual, sometimes smart casual.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
Retire and buy a holiday home in Lake Garda Italy, and of course give some
to my family.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Too many to mention.
What music do you like?
Van Morrison' Snow Patrol and Coldplay.
What sports person do you most admire?
Being a former goalkeeper, it has to be Pat Jennings, the legendary Northern
Ireland keeper. I once seen him playing for Spurs against Chelsea and
catching the ball with one hand. Totally amazing.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be?
My best holiday was three weeks in Ontario, Canada some years ago. My dream
holiday would be to visit Australia and New Zealand.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To retire from work, and take up art full time.
If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you choose?
I would like to spend a day painting with Rolf Harris, just to share his
passion for art.
If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want
with you?
