Mervyn KinkeadLISBURN man Mervyn Kinkead, 65, is aiming to do what no-one has ever done before - cross the Irish Sea to Scotland in a standard household tub. He hopes to do this in the next few weeks when the water is calm enough for him to attempt his challenge.

What do you like doing on your day off?
Being retired I never get a day off.

If you were to choose your favorite meal what would it be, where and why?
Sirloin steak in any good hotel/restaurant. I also like chinese curry.

What has been your proudest moment?
Not a moment but generally proud of my grandfather for him receiving a gold watch on a chain from President Theodore Roosevelt for rescue at sea.

What was the most frightening moment of your life?
August 1959 when I nearly drowned. Two others sadly did drown.

How would you describe your taste in clothes?
Very old fashioned - sports coats.

What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I don't bet so it won't happen.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
It would be the bath sinking on my way to Scotland. Hopefully that wont happen.

What music do you like?
Hymns of yesteryear.

What sports person do you most admire?
Eric Liddel the Christian athlete of many years ago.

Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be?
I have the best holidays every year. Best value one was hitch hiking through Germany France and Netherlands in 1968.

What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To reach as many people as possible with my story - my conversion.

If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you choose?
I would like to attend an all day conference with the main speaker being John Calvin a respected theologian.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want with you?
Bible' long distance radio and a yacht with GPS.
