Chris Cherry, 16 from Lisburn, spent a month at the Star on work experience seeing what life as journalist is really like. He recently completed his GCSE's and in now studying A-Levels at Dromore High School and hopes to pursue a career in journalism.
What do you like doing on your day off?
I enjoy going out with friends, whether its town, cinema or
even just someone's house, as well as listening to my favourite music.
I you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be,
where and why?
I love any Italian food really, but probably my favourite is
pizza because its simple yet tasty.
What has been your proudest moment?
Going to work with my dad as a photographer and getting a bunch
of my pictures into the newspapers, knowing that a lot of people would
see them.
What has been your most frightening moment?
I haven't really had any frightening moments, but probably one
of them would be my first day of high school as it was a big place and I
didn't really know anyone, but it turned out to be the best five years
of my life.
How would you describe your taste in clothes?
I prefer a pair of jeans and a cool T-shirt but I like any
clothes really from Hollister or Superdry -I think they do the best
looking clothes.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I would give some to my family, go on a long holiday and go on
a huge shopping spree for anything and everything.
What music do you like?
I like different kinds of music, but my favourites are rap or
rock. My favourite artists would be either Eminem cause I enjoy his
lyrics or Snow Patrol because they re a good band and they're local
which shows you can come from a tiny country but still become famous.
What sports person do you most admire?
George Best - he was a fantastic footballer.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream
holiday be?
Altinkum in Turkey was my favourite holiday, it was nothing but
heat, pools and beaches, which is my dream holiday. I prefer to relax in
the sun on my vacations rather then go somewhere to explore.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To try and play for the Belfast Giants ice hockey team when I'm
older.
If you could spend a day with a celebrity who would you choose?
Eminem, I think he would have a lot to talk about and would have an
interesting life to learn.
If you were on a desert island what three things would you
like to take with you?
Food, music and some one to talk to for company.
