Choir Mistress Diane McMullan with Jane Mcklbbin, one of the soloists at a concert entitled 'Easter Glory'.
HILLSBOROUGH Presbyterian Church Choir and friends will present a concert entitled 'Easter Glory' in Beechlawn School, Hillsborough on Friday April 13 at 7.30pm.
Under the direction of Diane McMullan, the organist and choir mistress, accompanied by Stephen Thompson on keyboard, the evening of varied music will suit all from GF Handel to Keith Getty. The soloists will be Louise Lemon and Jane McKibbin (members of the congregation), Edward McMullan (counter tenor in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford) and Ruth Trimble (singer/songwriter from Drumbo).
Tickets priced £10 (including light refreshments) are available from the Church Office 9268 3502 or from any Choir member. Proceeds are in aid of Project 180, a major new development which includes the refurbishment of their main hall, the Orr Hall and the building a new suite of accommodation between the church and the church hall. The building programme is due to be completed in the Summer with the official opening taking place on the weekend of 22nd/23rd September.
Hillsborough Presbyterian congregation was formed in April 1832. Project 180 is in celebration of 180 years of congregational life and will make the suite of halls fit for the needs of the congregation and wider community in the 21st century. The Project is a £1.2m scheme in which the Orr Hall has undergone a major refurbishment and the old school building between the Orr Hall and the Church has been demolished to make way for a modern new complex, designed to be a building which 'opens its arms' to welcome all who enter it.
