The mission team from Elmwood Presbyterian who will take part in a residential camp for some of the poorest children in Romania.
ELMWOOD Presbyterian is sending a mission team to Romania to take part in a residential camp for some of the poorest children in the country. The team of 12, whose ages range from 24 to 70 years old, leave Dublin for Budapest today (Friday July 6). They then travel to the Potters House in Timisora, one of the biggest cities in the country.
The Potters House is a non profit foundation which seeks to improve the lives of children from families with difficult financial situations. The team will be running a summer residential camp allowing these children the opportunity to have fun, make new friends and hear the good news of Jesus.
There has been a strong link between Elmwood and• Potters House for a number of years. One of the team members, Jill McNeely spent two years from 2008-2010 working with the charity and has been back several times since then to take part in outreach. As a result of this link the church has been asked to send a team to help with their summer programme.
For some members of the team this will be their first overseas mission trip but everyone is very excited and looking forward to the experiences that lie ahead before their return on July 19.
