THERE is a busy time ahead for Upper Falls Parish Church when they will hold their annual Summer Fete in the Parish Hall on Black's Road on Saturday May 19 from 2pm.
Stalls include cakes, crafts, grocery, books and bric-a-brac as well as games for the children.
This Summer Fete is well known especially for the quality of hand-made items for sale. In addition the Thrift Shop, with its wide variety of new and nearly new clothes for men, women and children, will also be open.
Admission to the Fete is £2.00 for adults (children free), and this includes refreshments.
After all "the fun of the fair" the parishioners of Upper Falls have a very different task the next day, Sunday May 20, as they bid farewell to their Rector, the Rev Trevor Cleland.
The Rev Cleland will be conducting his final Service in Upper Falls at Ilam as he is leaving to take up a new appointment as Rector of Ballinderry Parish. After morning worship, refreshments will be served in the Parish Hall on Black's Road, when parishioners will have the opportunity to thank Trevor for his ministry in Upper Falls and to express their good wishes to him, Joanne, Joel and Adam for their future role in Ballinderry.
