James Scott, 19, is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church Boardmills Boys Brigade and recently represented Northern Ireland at a private reception hosted by the Queen at Balmoral Castle. He is a student at Queen's University studying Food Science.
What do you like doing on your day off?
Working at home on the family farm with the cattle and sheep.
If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be, where and
why?
It would have to be really good fish and chips, by the sea. I think it's
a mixture of the sea air, watching the waves and hopefully bright
sunshine. It always brings lots of good memories back from family days
out.
What has been your proudest moment?
Definitely that would be meeting the Queen in August at her home on the
Balmoral Estate. It was a real honour for me and a privilege to
represent the Boys Brigade of Northern Ireland while I was there.
What was the most frightening moment of your life?
My first swimming lesson in primary school as I had never been swimming
before. Thankfully I have overcome that fear.
How would you describe your taste In clothes?
I am most often in either a shirt or polo, and jeans. I love wearing
shorts all through the Summer, even if it isn't sunny. I do like to be
well dressed and look smart for special occasions too.
What would you do if you won a million pounds?
I'd probably buy some more sheep! I'd buy a new car and go travelling
around the world. I think I would donate to some charities that I know
also.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
A friend and I began to sing into a Church microphone that we thought
was turned off, only to realize that it was directly relayed into a hall
where another meeting was taking place!
What music do you like?
The last album I got was 'Rend Collective Experiment', recently I have
also been listening to 'Noah and the Whale, and 'Mumford and Sons. I
enjoy music from a lot of different artists though.
What sports person do you most admire?
Andrew Trimble is a big icon for me. He is a powerful and passionate
player of the sport I love, rugby, and a man of strong faith also. He is
a great role model.
Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be?
My school senior rugby tour to Canada, during that we visited the town
of Victoria on Vancouver Island. It was a beautiful place, I've never
been anywhere better. The whole tour was fantastic, we did lots of
sight-seeing and everything from whale watching to zip-lining. We won
all of our matches and it was a brilliant way to end my school days with
a lot of my good friends.
What is your greatest remaining ambition?
To be able to make lots of wise decisions.
If you were stranded on a desert island what time things would you
want with you?
Bug spray because I can't stand flies buzzing around me. I would take a
wind up radio so that I could always have something different to listen
to. I would take a big bar of chocolate, and hopefully it wouldn't melt.
